Today Umag is best known for its sport: Every year in July, the ATP Croatia Open takes place with many big names from the men's tennis world. In addition to sporting activities, don't miss the interior of Istria, known for its excellent gastronomy, and numerous small hilltop towns with unique views of the Mirna River valley.
