La Rueda, our cortijo and the holiday home are located 5 km outside Orgiva in the small hamlet Los Agustines, on the southern foothills of the Sierra Nevada. Spanish village life is still intact here and our neighbors are mainly vegetable farmers who still cultivate and harvest their land below us by hand. Dangle in your hammock and watch the farmers doing it. Experience how one of our neighbors often knocks on the door to share something freshly harvested with us. In the afternoon you will meet Paco or Jose with their mules or you will hear the bells of the goats being herded down into the fields. This place is as idyllic as it sounds! We live next door, but you won't see us if you don't want to, we always respect the privacy of our guests! The pool can be heated for a small fee. La Rueda is an idyllic gem, out in the country, surrounded by flowers, bushes and trees. This place is perfect for resting and recharging your batteries! Directly below us are the fields of our neighbors, which they still work by hand, and opposite the Contraviesa mountain range separates us from the sea. A large number of birds call our trees their home and are particularly noticeable in the morning and evening. Orgiva is about 5 km away and offers all important facilities such as post office, banks, ATMs, supermarkets, a colorful weekly market (!), A daily market, doctors, dentists, pharmacies, bars, cafes, restaurants etc ... The influence of the foreign alternative culture In recent years Orgiva has had a very positive effect and today Orgiva is a multicultural place, which still maintains its Spanish traditions. Granada's historic old town is just under an hour's drive and the incomparable mountain panorama of the Alpujarra is 20 minutes away.Other leisure facilities : Golf: On the coast, only 40 minutes from here, between Motril and Salobreña, we have a good golf course in an excellent location. Play golf with the sea at your back and the snow-capped 3000 m mountains of the Sierra Nevada in front of you. If your companions do not want to play, you can lie down on the beach, go swimming or spend the time in one of the restaurants or cafes of the golf club. Two more courses will open shortly, one in Salobreña and the other halfway to Granada.Ski: In the winter months you are really spoiled for choice. Drive down to the deserted beach and stroll along the ocean. Or go to Granada to stock up on culture or simply to go shopping. Or you go skiing - you could actually do everything in one day. The Sierra Nevada ski area is the most modern ski resort in Spain and the sunniest in Europe. It has excellent snow reliability, long and wide slopes (up to 86 km of slopes), low prices and a pleasant atmosphere. So really an international ski paradise "par excellence".     “Nos ha gustado mucho, pero hemos pasado mucho calor a l noche. Nos ha tocado una ola de calor ?? yno teníamos aire acondicionado . Pero hemos aprovechado a darnos unos baños maravillosos en la piscina a las noches bajo el cielo estrellado. Ahora que conocemos la zona, repetiremos.”

    “La Rueda ist ein wunderschönes Kleinod für naturverbundene Romantiker und Wanderer.

    Es liegt 4 km von Orgiva entfernt in einem wunderschönen Tal aus Oliven-,Orangen-,Granatapfelbäumen uvm.

    Das Häuschen ist sauber und hat alles was man braucht.

    Stefan und Naomi sind supernett und stehen euch bei Fragen gern zur Seite.

    Wir haben uns sauwohl gefühlt!!”
